昆山加拿大外籍人员子女学校：中国年庆典活动

With the breeze of the new year, we welcomed Spring Festival and celebrated it with our CISK family.

 

春意缱绻，人间清欢。趁此刻春光正好，与你赴一场春天的约定。

Recently, CISK just completed our annual Temple Fair and Chinese New Year celebrations. We were so glad to see that the participation was strong and the atmosphere was extremely warm between the teachers, students, and parents. All our CISKers were dressed in Chinese traditional or characteristic costumes and looked superb in their expression of the local culture.

不久前，CISK刚刚结束了一年一度的庙会和中国年庆典活动。全校师生们身着中国传统或特色民族服饰，现场气氛异常热烈。同时，这次活动还吸引了众多家长朋友的热情参与。

01 Temple Fair Sightseeing庙会观光

The Temple Fair sightseeing activity was the first activity of the day. The activity was mainly formed by food stations and game stations. With the theme of inheriting traditional Chinese cuisine, the food stations encouraged people to explore classic cuisines, and the booths attracted a great number of visitors.

先声夺人的是充满烟火气息的庙会观光活动。主要包括美食站和游戏站两个版块。美食站以传承中华传统美食为主题，鼓励大家发掘日常生活中的经典美食。很多摊位反响热烈。

In addition, children found the game stations particularly tempting! Spring Festival couplets, lanterns, cast pots, archery, lantern riddles, and many others attracted students and teachers to participate and learn the great charm of Chinese traditional culture.

另外，游戏站也吸引了小朋友们的强烈兴趣。大家写春联、做花灯、投壶、射箭、拓印年画、猜灯谜、剪窗花、套圈……大家在欢乐热闹的气氛中感受着传统文化和节庆习俗的无穷魅力。

There were also a group of ingenious crafts stations presenting handicrafts such as straw weaving, clay figurines, and flower-and-bird characters that delighted attendees with their unique skills.

还有一群心灵手巧的手艺人，为大家献上了草编、泥人、花鸟字等的手工艺品，栩栩如生，令人叹为观止。

Love brings people together, and that’s also the reason that brought us together to celebrate Spring Festival. Through the Temple Fair, our students not only developed their teamwork,  but also gained rich experience in handmaking and selling skills. With encouragement from teachers, students also actively participated in a charity fund-raising activity that will support the most vulnerable groups in society. A total of RMB 3,300 raised at this fundraiser was donated to children living in poverty through the "Match Public Welfare Platform".

爱使人们凝聚一体。孩子们不仅在庙会摊位经营的过程里培养了团队协作意识和动手实践能力，积累了丰富的实践经验，在老师们的鼓励和倡议下，也积极参与到慈善募捐活动中，为社会弱势群体带去光明与温暖。本次活动中共募集到的3,300元将通过“火柴公益平台”捐赠给偏远地区的孩子们。

02 Singing and Dancing | Chinese New Year Celebration Gala载舞欢歌｜中国年庆典

After the charming Temple Fair, the Chinese New Year celebration officially kicked off with the opening performance, "The Dragon and Lion Dance".

妙趣横生的庙会过后，随着热闹的开场表演《狮跃龙腾》，中国年庆典表演正式拉开帷幕

Some 27 acts were selected for the celebration after intense competition.

经过激烈的角逐，共有27个节目登上了本次中国年庆典的舞台。

The creative and lovely performance by our Kindergarten kids made our audience giggle and won a well-deserved round of applause. 

幼儿园的小朋友们或唱或跳，呆萌可爱的表演引得台下观众忍俊不禁，笑语欢声。

The programs led by PYP students were diverse: campus-life-themed theater, poetry recitations, dramas adapted from textbooks, songs, dances, and so on. 

PYP的同学们把校园生活的点滴融入自己的节目中，或吟诵诗词，或改编课本剧，或合唱歌曲，表现出无穷无尽的奇思妙想。

CISK teachers are very versatile, and their performance of the Chinese song "Sweet Honey" amazed everyone!

CISK的老师们也多才多艺，一曲《甜蜜蜜》令大家惊艳不已。

MYP and DP students are both confident and composed. Their skits, sitcoms, and band performances all met with prolonged applause.

MYP和DP的同学们则显得更加自信沉稳，展现出CISK学子的风范。他们的小品、情景舞剧和乐队演奏得到了大家久久不息的掌声。

Taste the newly dressed tea, freshly new,

While young, try your verse and brew

且将新火试新茶，诗酒趁年华。

It is to youth that verse and wine incline; it is with gratitude that Spring Festival has brought us here together. With our best wishes, we look forward to meeting you again next year!
